8:05 A.M.: Communication with S. S. Atkenei. He knows nothing of Titanic.
8:06 A.M.: Communication with S. S. Scandinavian, bound east. He can give me no information either.
8:15 A.M.: Again called Cape Race, but can not hear him.
8:30 A.M.: Following service messages received from Asian confirming previous information:

CAPTAIN OLYMPIC:
Asian heard Titanic signalling Cape Race on and off from 8 to 10 P.M., local time, Sunday. Messages too faint to read. Finished calling S. 0. S. midnight. Position given as latitude 41.40, longitude 50.14. No further information. Asian then 500 miles west of Titanic and towing oil tank to Halifax.

Keeping close watch until—
9:25 A.M.: Communication with S. S. Parisian. He says: "I sent traffic to the Titanic at 8:50 last night, and I heard him send traffic just before I went to bed to Cape Race. I turned in at 11:15, ship's time. The Californian was about 50 miles astern of us. I heard following this morning, 6 o'clock:
"Would you like me to send service message to your commander? According to information picked up the Carpathia has picked up about 20 boats with passengers. The Baltic is returning to give assistance. As regards Titanic I have heard nothing—don't know if she is sunk."
(This information was given to the commander immediately verbally.)
10:10 A.M.: Sent two messages to the S. S. Berlin.

L’Asian a entendu le Titanic signaler Cape Race aller/retour de 20 à 22 heures, heure locale, dimanche. Messages trop faibles pour lire. A fini par envoyer S. 0. S. à minuit. Position donnée comme latitude 41.40, longitude 50.14. Aucune autre information. Asian à 500 miles (920 km) à l’ouest du Titanic et remorquant un pétrolier jusqu’à Halifax.

13 avril : iceberg signalé par 41,50° de latitude et 50,30° de longitude.

Surveiller de près jusqu’à—
9 h 25 : Communication avec S. S. Parisian. Il dit : « J’ai envoyé la circulation au Titanic à 8 h 50 hier soir, et je l’ai entendu envoyer la circulation juste avant d’aller me coucher à Cape Race. J’ai fait demi-tour à 11 h 15, heure du navire. Le Californian était à environ 50 miles (90 km) derrière nous. J’ai entendu ce matin, à 6 heures : « Voulez-vous que j’envoie un message de service à votre commandant? Selon les informations recueillies le Carpathia a ramassé environ 20 canots avec des passagers. Le Baltic à fait demi-tour pour donner de l’aide. En ce qui concerne le Titanic, je n’ai rien entendu — je ne sais pas si il a coulé. »
